Modern wall decals that brighten up your day

We are finally moving back this weekend, fingers crossed!

My nesting instincts have also started to kick in whilst shopping for baby items. I’ve always loved wall decals as an easy way to dress up a space, but regular flower wall decals don’t seem to cut it anymore. Especially since I’ll be living with two males in the family, I really have to learn to curb my girly decor instincts!

I came across some gorgeous, fun wall decals which I am excited to share with you :)

First up, short little phrases by Made of Sundays. Instead of long quotes, these chirpy ones are sure enough to brighten your day just by catching a glimpse of them.

Fabric and accessories markets in Guangzhou (part I)

If you thought Sham Shui Po in Hong Kong was the bomb for shopping for fabric and accessories, wait till you head to this area in Guangzhou! With the Zhongda fabric market and other trading buildings, this is really one of the largest markets you could ever access!

A highly recommended visit for you if you happen to be in Guangzhou and love shopping for material to make stuff with, or if you are sourcing fabric and accessories for your business.

Zhong Da Fabric Market Guangzhou

I only had a few hours there before my flight (I probably only covered the tip of the iceberg), but here are some areas that you can check out.

p/s I’m going to be including some Mandarin words in case you need this for reference to show the hotel concierge or cab driver.

Shooting with cellophane and tulle

Collaborated with Irvin and Shiqin from Meese Studios recently to do a shoot for two looks. The first was an outfit made of reflective silver cellophane. The way the lights were set up were perfect and the material looked absolutely electric!

The second look involved lots of tulle in bright contrasting colours with a japonesque make-up look (had mentioned wanting to do this in an earlier post and it has finally happened!).

The studio at The Pond was one of the coolest I’ve worked in so far. If you couldn’t figure out the above image, there was a trap door from the second floor that allows you to shoot from up top!

Not only was the studio really cool, the make up and dressing area in the back was simply divine.

This has been one of the most fun shoots to date and I can’t wait to play with more material again! :)
